Verification and Assurance

Independent Sustainability Verification for Carbon, EPD and Climate Reporting

We support organizations that need an independent review lens on carbon reporting, climate disclosures, sustainability metrics, and related evidence so reporting teams can strengthen credibility before sharing information externally.

Sustainability verification for carbon, EPD and disclosure evidence

Where independent verification helps most

Verification work is most useful when disclosures involve multiple data owners, varied methodologies, and high stakeholder scrutiny. Our role is to test the logic, evidence chain, assumptions, and consistency of reported information so the final output is more robust and better prepared for stakeholder review.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is sustainability or GHG verification?

Verification is an independent check of whether reported sustainability data, such as a GHG inventory or carbon claim, is complete, accurate and prepared according to the stated method. It gives customers, investors and regulators confidence that the numbers can be relied on.

What is the difference between limited and reasonable assurance?

Limited assurance gives a negative-form conclusion that nothing came to the verifier's attention suggesting the data is materially misstated. Reasonable assurance involves more extensive testing and gives a positive conclusion that the data is fairly stated. BRSR Core started with reasonable assurance for the largest listed companies.

Which standards guide GHG verification?

GHG statement verification is commonly carried out against ISO 14064-3, with ISO 14065 setting requirements for verification bodies and ISAE 3000 or ISAE 3410 used for assurance engagements by audit-style providers.

Can you help us get ready before formal BRSR assurance?

Yes. An assurance-readiness review checks your data trail, calculation logic, boundaries and controls ahead of the formal engagement, so issues are fixed before the assurance provider starts.

How long does a verification engagement take?

A readiness review usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. Full verification timelines depend on the number of sites, the scope of data and the level of assurance required.
